Customizing your profile
In this article...
Show off the products you purchased
The Points2Shop user profiles include a section where you can show off prizes, cash withdraws, and Cause donations that you have redeemed. This is a great way to provide further proof that your items actually came from Points2Shop, just link up your profile page! Also, since the new profiles have a bold green button allowing a visitor to sign up as your referrer, it is a great destination to show prospective referrals.
How do I add prizes that I redeemed to my profile?
There is a link next to each individual item in your order history which allows you to either add or remove items from your profile. Items that you order are not displayed on your profile unless you choose to display them by clicking this link.
Click Status of Orders in the Amazon Redemption menu or use this direct link to see your order history. You will see each of your orders, just click View next to an order to see the individual items for the order. This is where you can choose prizes to add to your profile.
Can I add products that I ordered with a manual order?
Not yet, whether they allow that or not depends on how manual orders are recorded. However, since they do not appear in your order history, currently they cannot be used on your profile.
How do I add cash withdraws I've made to my profile?
There is a link next to each of your withdrawals in your cash out history. Like prizes, you will need to add each individual withdraw to show your profile before they appear on your public profile. Click Requested Withdrawals in the Spend Points menu, or use this direct link to see your withdrawal history. Click 'Show in profile' for the withdrawals you would like to add to your profile.
Add a photo to your profile
The Points2Shop user profiles allow you to display an avatar - a photo of yourself, your cat, or anything really - to add some flair to your profile. Take some time to check your friends' photos, some are quite amusing!
To add a profile photo, visit the account settings page. Click Browse to find a photo on your computer, then Save to add it to your profile. Be sure to wait while the photo is uploaded to Points2Shop. To find this page again later, go to Edit Account Settings in the Account menu or click your profile photo while viewing your profile.
The background of my photo is black!
If you upload a transparent .gif or .png image, the background will be black instead of blending in with the page. To fix that, open a photo editing program like Paint or Photoshop and save your image as a .jpg. This may be fixed some day but the admins have said it might take awhile.
If you don't have a program to do this, just upload the image to http://www.coolutils.com/Online-Image-Converter.php and click Convert to JPG.
Write a greeting message on your profile
The Points2Shop user profiles allow you to write a greeting message to display at the top of your profile. You might want to say why you joined, tell others what you think about Points2Shop, or just talk about yourself.
To create your profile message, visit the extra account settings page. To find this page again later, go to Edit Account Settings in the Account menu or click your profile photo.
Writing a good greeting
If you are familiar with web publishing, you probably know that well-written content with good keywords can bring search visitors to your web site. You can use these principles to write content and display your Amazon prizes such that people searching for a specific product may find your profile and your bold green "Sign Up under this referrer" button.
Hide sections on your profile
Based on your preferred preferences, you can pick and choose some of the sections that appear on your Points2shop profile. Whether you want to hide your recent offers completed or merits count to throw off your competitors in individual or team competitions, you're in control.
Start by going to Edit Preferences in the Account menu. To see your options, look in Privacy. Choose between hiding your overall stats, merits, offers, earnings, or even your demographics. While sections you choose to hide may not appear for others, you will still be able to see your own stats when viewing your profile.
