Sparknotes is the godliest resource available to students. It allows you to read chapter summaries of nearly every single book in HS so you don't have to actually read those dreadful 300+ page books books that you are assigned to read. =p |

my best thing i can say is do not be lazy or procrastinate. I know its reallllly hard to do lol but its the most thing ive personally regretted. Im great where I am now but i know i couldve done alot better. Aim to do the best you can do and its more worth while being involved in something to have fun as well! You want something or someone (hehe xD) do it! 4 years passes by fast try to make it the most worthwhile without TOO many regrets as well

I just finished freshman year and I currently have a 4.0 GPA, taking all honors classes. My first tip for you is DON'T DON'T DON'T!!!! use Sparknotes because doing so will ultimately make you a less knowledgeable person. Reading books not only helps strengthen your comprehension of written material, but it also introduces you to new words that you could use in discussions to make you sound more intelligent. Also, using Sparknotes most likely will not help you for in-class assignments and tests because they don't provide all the details, only a brief summary. So in general, DON'T YOU SPARKNOTES!
Secondly, join clubs and extra curricular activities. Not only does this introduce you to nice ,new kids with the same interests, but it also helps structure your time during the school year to make you more efficient. And lastly, don't get caught up in high school antics. A lot of high schoolers think they're so old that they can drink alcohol and attend parties every night. This is not the right thing to do whatsoever. Not only could you get caught for underage drinking or possession of illegal substances, but this lifestyle will also distract you dearly from your academic endeavors. So these are the tips I used and will use throughout my high school career, and I hope you will use them too. High school is a time of growth and self-reliance. You will not have teachers adults spoon-feeding like when you were in elementary school. You have to choose the right path and continue to follow it until you graduate. |
