Why don't people understand that calendars...you know...REPEAT THEMSELVES?

I mean, we all don't go up in a fiery blaze every other century. funnyhomeboy

SHH! They're running out of mad theories for end of the world, now they'll just claim that they hadn't got the right circle of the doom calendar and claim it's in 3405 or something like that.

What do you think will happen in December 2012? The Mayans supposedly predict that the world will end, and even other cultures believe similar ideals. What's your opinion? GO WATCH THE MOVIE (it's good) lol joman93

Actually that "end of the world" calendar is based on the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. Professional Mayanist scholars state that predictions of impending doom are not found in any of the classic Maya accounts, and that the idea that the Long Count calendar "ends" in 2012 misrepresents Maya history and culture.
No predictions of an "end of the world" disaster have ever been made by Maya culture at all :) They marked the end of a cycle that happens to fall on a December 2012, but we must take into consideration that they had 12 cycles before this one come to an end and nothing happened during those :)
In fact, most scientists of any merit will tell you that the actual assumptions made by various cultures about this 'dooms day event' are pseudoscience. That based on astronomical events we certainly have nothing to worry about from space (asteroids and so on) and based on geological studies we have nothing to worry about here either.
Though the current earthquakes and tsunamis are frightening, they are just regular happenings on this planet. They have been occurring for quite some time and will continue to occur off and on throughout our future.
