This isn't an internet wars here, and I don't need additional ISPs because I can only choose between these two in my area (I live in a weird 1/2 mile dead zone for internet coverage). I currently have AT&T; at 6Mbps ADSL2+ internet for $43 and Comcast is running a promotion for 20Mbps Cable internet at $29.99 for 6 months, $44.99 for 7-12months, and $42.95-$60 something thereafter, plus $7/month for a modem, or I gotta buy one (thinking I will rent and if its a good one, buy it on amazon then return the rental). So I was looking for input if people think Comcast is worth the switch because in the long run, they will be more expensive, but obviously higher internet speeds (if it reaches the maximum stated of course). Do you get outages with the weather? Bad customer service? Bad service during peak hours? Service caps? I just like knowing about a company before I chance stopping service that isn't bad, its just I have no where to go with it but down (AT&T , and I am sick of getting host in a game and the game booting me b/c my connection cannot handle it -_-' And also if anyone has suggestions for recent Comcast modems then, that would be great too ![]() Poll: Comcast or AT&T; •Comcast •AT&T; Standings: Want to make a poll too?? Well yeah, lol! I mean I guess I COULD get DirecTv or DishNetwork but I know better I've had them both before I moved out of parents and both times my parents actually broke the contracts and paid the early termination fee because they highly relied on their internet and could not handle how awful the dish internet was xP

Hgm that is sort of how I see it, I can't get true u-verse even although they bill me like I do :/ They were billing me for my new internet when we still had regular DSL lines too (a friend said something to just recently remind me of this). I think comcast would be good I just hope that I get the max or near it, as long as we hit the 6 minimum we are good for at least 6 months on the pricing And daw i have no idea what that is literately the dishes were the two we can get in addition, but otherwise those 4 are the only available. Clear, cricket, and verizon are available in my area (chicagoland) but in my actual area we cannot get them, there is this weird dead blanket for like a halfmile radius that no internet providers enter besides the top 2 and the 2 dish and then no phone companies provide good service except Tmobile.

My best bet is comcast, so far there service seems promising and reliable. Nor do they limit you to certain amount of gigabits or time limits |

I have comcast, well xfinity, but I assume you don't need the t.v or phone. It's been well for years now. Customer service is really good. As for the modem, they gave it to me for free for signing up with Xfinity. Otherwise, just buy it. They should be around 50 dollars, but it beats paying every month for something you don't own. Honestly, I wish there was more option in my area for the companies to compete with prices, but other than price, it's been really solid with a really good customer service. |
