Overall 3DS XL is 46% larger than the standard 3DS at 93x156x22mm and weight of 336 grams, compared to the original 3DS's 74x134x21mm and 235 grams. Despite this, the XL will feature improved battery life of 3 to 6.5 hours when playing 3DS software and 5 to 8 hours when playing original DS games. My personal opinion is that this model is being released mainly to support the Wii U since it has been rumoured that the 3DS can be used as a second gaming controller.But the new model can also be useful to others that felt that the 3DS or screen was too small for their hands. The console has been shown in Blue, Black and White however it is unclear as to which colours are released in each region. Images

Thing is, im about 6'6, and therefore, my hands are larger than the average (obviously, lol) so having a larger version is just perfect

What sucks is that people who buy the XL won't be able to use the circle pro pad WHICH is why I won't be trading in for the XL because I desperately want a 2nd analog stick. Not having a 2nd stick is why I haven't bought games like MGS3 and RE: Revelations because I can't stand not being able to move the camera around.

Its how technology works

You counted how many iPod Touches and iPhones have been released since 2007 with little change between them.

On topic now, this system is basically just a bigger handheld with a better battery, its not like they are going to stop making the regular 3DS.
