research project surveys!

If you do not qualify for it but it says " take another survey" and you then complete that survey do you get credit? I have done this in the past and received credit but other times i have not. For instance I did the research project consumer study earlier didn't qualify but was given the option to take another survey which I completed but no credit. Can someone please explain?
