Teams are for team competitions that are held. That's where merits you earn on the site come in handy. You donate merits to the teams balance, and those donated go towards only the current open competition. This means you want to make sure you have enough merits to actually win the team competition, otherwise you would be wasting merits for nothing. Since you're new, you only have 166 merits which is very little to go into a competition with. I'd recommend saving up more merits before even thinking about teams and team competitions. Saving up a few thousand merits per teammate would be a good amount. To join a team, you can go to the Compete tab and click Teams Competition. From here, you can look at the list of teams and try finding one that has less than 5 members, and that are currently accepting members. Click to join the team, and wait for the leader to accept you. You can create your own team as well by clicking the Create a Team link from the Teams Competition page. If you're not finding any luck there, you can also go to the Compete forum here and see if any teams are accepting members. You probably will have better luck in the forum. |
