I will be using the laptop to play current games ( cod bo, crysis 2, gta ballad of ___ tony, arkham asylum, etc) and also future games ( saints row 3, arkham city) , school work, and watching videos. I really want a quad core because i know its the future of gaming, and its awesome for multi tasking. my mom and bro have quads i have duo and they can handle tons more task at once than mine can.

Excluding features i have the four following options

1. $699 i5 2410m (2.3 turbo to 2.9) and nvidia gt 540m
2. $776 AMD A8 quad core (1.5 turbo to 2.4) and radeon 6750
3. $800 i7 2630qm quad core ( 2.0 turbo to 2.9) and nvidia gt 540m
4. save up $200-$250 more ( i have 700 dollars now) and get a i7 2630qm and a radeon 6770

--the i5 2410 is a duo core and will work for current games. its a great processor but i really would prefer a quad.
--the nvidia gt 540m will work for current games but not for any future releases ( maybe on low settings)
--the i7 2630qm is a quad core and is totally awesome
--the radeon 6750 is a better graphics card than the nvidia gt 540m and the 6770 is better than both of them

If i choose 2 i sacrifice having a better processor, if 3 i sacrifice having a better graphics card, i lose out on both if i choose 1, as for 4 it's gonna take more time to save. which should i do?

Alright, it seems the HP one (choice number 2) rose in price because last I saw you stated $699. It would've easily been the easy choice. Last I checked though, Best Buy had it for $679. If you want this specifically for gaming, it's still the best laptop for under 800 dollars.

What laptop exactly is the 4th one? I'd like to look it up. I'm only voting if I know exactly what I'm doing.

Basically to sum up what I replied in PMed, don't expect noticeable improvements in gaming with option number 4. However, option number 4 will give you a much better multimedia performance if you're into photoshop or HD video editing. That's not to say that the A8 can't handle such things though, as it is more than reasonably capable for multimedia use.

I still don't know what laptop number 3 or 4 is, so I'm still unsure on what to vote. If my assumptions right, I'd go for 2.

I'm not a PC gamer, but I am a video editor, so I've looked into this type of things a lot in the past. If you want to play it safe, obviously number 4. It is however, not the best value for gaming.

I think the 4th one has the best features, and is the one I'd choose! :)
